Choosing a Foot File for the Task

Silkline’s foot files offer different surfaces and handling: paired medium/coarse sides, wet/dry use, and replaceable abrasive pads. Choose the product that fits your routine and work conservatively.

Instructions & Downloads

  1. Check the exact file’s sides and use directions. The wooden Duo has a medium and coarse side; the Wet/Dry file specifies coarse side on dry skin and smooth side on wet skin.
  2. The plastic Silkline file lists 80 grit coarse and 180 grit medium and says it can be used wet or dry. The stainless-steel kit supplies replaceable 60, 80 and 120 grit pads; choose the surface your training and the manufacturer’s instructions support.
  3. Assess the feet first. Work only on suitable callused areas, use controlled pressure, and recheck the skin often. Stop before discomfort or irritation; do not try to remove all callus.
  4. Follow the exact tool’s cleaning, replacement and disposal directions between clients. Avoid applying salon filing to open, inflamed or infected skin; refer concerns outside your scope.
