- Prep the nail gently. Remove surface oil and residue with 99% alcohol or pure acetone, following Magic’s preparation directions. Avoid other-brand primers, bonders and dehydrators that can leave a film.
- Apply your base. For a Magic gel manicure on the natural nail, gently scrub in a thin layer of Silicone Thin Base, then brush it smooth. Keep it off the skin and cure for 60 seconds LED or 2 minutes in a 36-watt UV lamp.
- Add your color. Apply a thin, even coat of MLaq and cure for 30 seconds LED or 2 minutes in a 36-watt UV lamp. Follow your shade’s stated coverage; if it needs another coat, keep that coat thin and cure it separately.
- Finish the service. Apply your chosen Magic top gel and use its own cure and cleansing directions. Tackless Hyper Shine gives a glossy finish without a sticky layer to wipe; matte and other Magic finishes are alternatives.
- Check your exact bottles and lamp before starting. Shade coverage and gel cure times differ, so use each product’s label rather than one setting for the whole service. Keep all uncured gel off the skin.
