Choosing Fine or Medium for a diamond needle

The D-93 needle has a slim working shape for detailed nail-fold and cuticle work. Fine and medium have different roles, so choose the grit for the technique rather than treating them as the same attachment.

Instructions & Downloads

  1. Choose your grit deliberately. U-Tools describes Fine for detailed cuticle and nail-fold refinement, and Medium for nail preparation and cleaning the sidewalls.
  2. Use only a technique within your training. Keep the working area visible and distinguish removable, nonliving cuticle from living skin.
  3. Fit the needle with the machine stopped. Follow the bit and handpiece directions, then use a light, moving touch rather than digging with the point.
  4. Check your progress often and stop for heat, discomfort, catching or vibration. A finer grit still needs controlled contact.
  5. Clean reusable bits before reprocessing. Follow a material-compatible method and the full disinfectant label; alcohol alone doesn’t sterilize a tool.

Medium (Blue):

  • Specifically designed for preparing the nail plate for reinforcement with bio gel or acrylic application.
  • Efficiently lifts cuticles before strengthening the nail plate.
  • Cleans the nail wall thoroughly.
  • Removes any leaked gel on the side walls for a flawless finish.

Coarse (Green):

  • Recommended for more robust tasks, this bit is perfect for shaping and cleaning nail plates.
  • Effectively lifts and removes dry, rough cuticles.
  • Removes leaked-out acrylic on the side walls for a clean and professional look.
  • Additionally suitable for treating hyperkeratosis, small corns, and calluses.

Maintenance:
After completing a procedure with a client, it is essential to:
Wash, clean, sterilize, and dry all bits used during the process.
Use a solution of at least 70% alcohol for effective disinfection.
