Control in smaller filing areas

A slim or detail attachment can help you reach a smaller area, but it still needs a deliberate plan and a light touch. Use this Nove Academy overview with the directions for your exact carbide bit.

Instructions & Downloads

  1. Choose the exact shape and grit for the job. Fine detail, medium needle and under-nail attachments aren’t interchangeable simply because they reach a similar area.
  2. Make sure you can see the area you’re filing. Adjust the finger and your viewing angle before approaching a sidewall or underside; don’t work blindly.
  3. Fit the bit with the machine stopped, then use the direction and limits specified for that bit and handpiece.
  4. Make short, controlled passes with light contact. Keep clear of living skin and check the result often rather than digging with the tip or pressing harder.
  5. Stop for heat, discomfort, catching or unusual vibration. Follow the maker-approved cleaning and reprocessing method for carbide before storing the bit.
