Using the U-Tools D-72 Medium Needle

The D-72 medium needle has a long, narrow 1.8 × 12 mm head. U-Tools describes it for detailed prep around the nail walls and for free-edge correction.

  1. Check the model, head size and medium grit. The fine and coarse variants have their own uses.
  2. Use the narrow profile for the nail-wall cleaning, prep or free-edge task your training covers.
  3. Keep the point and working area visible. Follow the exact bit and e-file directions, with light, controlled pressure.
  4. Clean reusable bits before the required disinfection or sterilization process. Check that the method is suitable for the bit material; our tool-care guide explains the steps. Disposable sanding bands must be discarded after use.

The Diamond Nail Drill Bits in the D72 Needle shape—an expertly crafted tool designed for precision and finesse in artificial nail application. This bit is uniquely engineered to navigate effortlessly between nail walls during the build-up process. 

Available three specialized variants:

Fine (Red):

  • Ideal for delicate work on thin and sensitive cuticles.
  • Perfect for lifting cuticles with precision.
  • Excellently suited for opening, cleaning, and polishing nail walls.
  • Great for lifting cuticles and achieving detailed work on the nail walls.
  • Ideal for opening, cleaning, and providing a polished finish after cuticle removal.

Medium (Blue): used for:

  • Correcting the free edge of the natural nail plate.
  • Lifting and removing cuticles,
  • Polishing periungual ridges
  • Preparing the nail plate for coating.
  • Cleaning the nail wall for a flawless finish.

Coarse (Green): used for:

  • The efficient removal of part of the nail plate.
  • Perfect for creating an arch under the nail.
  • Treating surface cracks.
  • Designed for the treatment and removal of corns and calluses.

Maintenance:

After completing a procedure with a client, it is essential to:
Wash, clean, sterilize, and dry all bits used during the process.
Use a solution of at least 70% alcohol for effective disinfection.
