Instructions & Downloads

  1. Prepare the nail and apply the base recommended for your Akzéntz service. Cure the base as directed before applying Black-On.
  2. Stir Black-On as directed, then apply a thin, even coat. Cure fully using the instructions for your exact bottle and lamp.
  3. For a pearlescent effect, work the powder firmly into the cured surface with a gloved finger or suitable applicator.
  4. Seal the finished design with the recommended top coat. Akzéntz lists Luxio Gloss, Shine-On or Matte-On depending on the finish you want; follow the selected top coat’s cure and cleanse instructions.

Black-On One Coat Wonder

Black-On, a super saturated black color gel that applies in one thin coat, and cures to a high-gloss, tack-free shine. Black-On is the ideal product to use when applying chrome or effect powders (Such as Gel Play Pearlescent Powder), by eliminating 3 layers of product and reducing the application time.

Akzéntz specialty gels are universal products designed to integrate with all Akzéntz gel systems, offering expanded versatility and service customization.

Recommended Use

Step 1: Nail Preparation
Begin by thoroughly prepping the natural nails: cleanse with Akzéntz Prep & Wipe, push back or remove cuticles, and buff the nail plate removing all shine, we recommend a 180 grit file.

Step 2: Base Application
Apply a thin, even layer of Luxio® Base, or X-Bond to the center of the nail, carefully pushing the brush up to the cuticle without touching it. With a light hand, smooth the base down towards the free edge, ensuring full coverage of the nail plate. Cure for 30 seconds.

Step 3: Color Application
Using the same technique as the base application, apply Black-On by pushing the brush up towards the cuticle and evenly pulling it down over the nail. Cure for 30 seconds. Due to the extremely heavy pigments, and the solvent-free formula, we recommend occasionally stirring Black-On before use to achieve the maximum coverage.

Step 4: Apply Effect Powder
After curing is complete, work quickly and rub a generous amount of Gel Play Pearlescent Powder (or the effect/chrome powder of your choice, using a cosmetic applicator or a gloved finger. Use firm pressure.

Step 5: Finish
Complete the service by applying Luxio® Gloss for a long lasting glossy finish. Cure for 30 seconds, then remove the sticky layer with Akzéntz Prep & Wipe. If a tack-free top gloss is preferred, use Akzéntz Shine-On. A matte effect can also be achieved by using Akzéntz Matte-On.
