Instructions & Downloads

  1. Prep the nail: Follow Akzentz’s directions for nail and cuticle prep. Gently remove surface shine with the specified 180-grit file.
  2. Cleanse: Remove dust, then cleanse with Prep & Wipe and a suitable lint-free wipe. Keep uncured gel off the skin throughout your service.
  3. Apply your Base: Follow the directions for the nail type and apply a thin coat. Akzentz specifies 30 seconds in an Akzentz LED light. Leave the sticky layer (inhibition layer) in place before your next step.
  4. Add your color: Apply thin, even coats and cure each one for the time given in that color’s instructions. Keep gel off the skin and leave the sticky layer in place between steps.
  5. Finish with your top coat: Follow its own directions. For Luxio Gloss, Akzentz specifies 30 seconds in an Akzentz LED light, followed by Prep & Wipe to remove the sticky layer.
  6. Check your lamp: These cure times apply to the Akzentz lamp and product instructions linked here. Another lamp or formula may need a different time, so check the exact instructions before you begin.
  7. Ready for removal? Follow the soak-off or filing directions for your exact product. If you use Soak Off, follow its directions and gently remove only the softened product.

Recommended Use

Step 1: Nail Preparation
Begin by thoroughly prepping the natural nails: cleanse with Akzéntz Prep & Wipe, push back or remove cuticles, and buff the nail plate removing all shine, we recommend a 180 grit file. 

Step 2: Base Application
Apply a thin, even layer of Luxio® Base to the center of the nail, carefully pushing the brush up to the cuticle without touching it. With a light hand, smooth the base down towards the free edge, ensuring full coverage of the nail plate. Cure for 30 seconds.

Step 3: Color Application
Select your desired Luxio® Color. Using the same technique, apply the color by pushing the brush up towards the cuticle and evenly pulling it down over the nail. Cure for 30 seconds.

Step 4: Second Color Layer
Repeat the color application process for a second coat. For advanced nail artists, we recommend using a fine liner brush to apply the color as close to the cuticle as possible without making contact, for a perfected look. Cure for 30 seconds.

Step 5: Finish
Complete the service by applying Luxio® Gloss for a long lasting glossy finish. Cure for 30 seconds, then remove the sticky layer with Akzéntz Prep & Wipe. If a tack-free top gloss is preferred, use Akzéntz Shine-On. A matte effect can also be achieved by using Akzéntz Matte-On.
